FAQ for ACLS classes

Do I have to sign up for a skills lab in addition to the ACLS Initial Provider or the ACLS Renewal Class?

No.  The skills portion is part of the ACLS Initial and/or ACLS Renewal (Update) Class

Is this an American Heart Association Class?

Yes.  You will receive an American Heart Association eCard certification which is active for 2 years after successful completion of the class.  This eCard will be emailed to you typically within 1 to 7 business days after your class.

Is the HeartCode ACLS skills lab an ACLS Renewal Class?

No.  This is a blended option for ACLS and is equivalent to taking an ACLS Initial Class.  You can take this option for renewal or initial, however you do not have to have a current ACLS certification to enroll.  This option is not recommended for those who have never taken an ACLS class before.  You must complete the online portion through ShopCPR.heart.org first before entering the the HeartCode ACLS lab.

Can I take the ACLS update/renewal class if I have an ACLS certification other than from American Heart Association?

No.  You can only enter the ACLS update/renewal class if you have a current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.

What are the prerequisites for the ACLS classes?

For ACLS Initial and Renewal you must complete the pre-course work and pre-course self assessments.  For the ACLS skills lab (hands-on session) you must complete the ACLS HeartCode online.  Please see individual class requirements above for additional information.  If requested, we can schedule a 2 day ACLS traditional class for groups.  Please contact us for additional information (208) 614-2258.

How many students are there in the ACLS classes?

We only allow a maximum of 6 students in our ACLS classes unless we have arranged a private group with additional instructors.
